Masthead

At the Triennial Meeting of 1929 members of the General Society, meeting in Boston, were presented by the Massachusetts Society a medallion of George Washington of bronze gilt, measuring 2-1/2 inches in diameter (Hume #15).

Washington is shown wearing civilian dress, and facing partly to the left. There is no inscription, and the reverse is plain. The medal was mounted in a frame under glass on a background of black velvet and enclosed in a wooden frame of black and gold, measuring 41/2 by 5-1/2 inches.

The medal, made from a stock pattern by Robbins & Company, of Attleboro, Massachusetts, was available for other purposes but this version, uniface with gilt finish, plain back, is likely unique to the Society of the Cincinnati's 1929 Triennial Meeting.
